When it happens, the light turns on for ABS and Stability because they both rely on wheel speed sensors. When you turn it off and then back on, it retests the connection and turns the light off until the signal is lost again. You could have either a sensor on it's way out or a bad connection due to corrosion etc.

I own a 2016 Silverado 1500. I wish to completely disable ABS, Traction Control and Stabilitrak. The only way to do this is to pull the fuse for these functions. I have scoured the internet, everyone says "pull the fuse" but they don't mention the number of the fuse and the owner's manual is too vague for me to figure it out based on that.Roughly 3 times in the past I backed out of the driveway and the traction light would pop and go off.
