There are starting classes that have move 5 and heal 4 on non-loss cards, going up 1 on each value does not warrant a loss. Obviously the Tinkerer has more cards, so more flexibility to use losses, but he also has some actual good loss cards, so better to count on those as being the losses we'll play. Despite what I said earlier, the tinkerer is a pretty reliable mid-battle healer, especially since he gets a good number of bottom heals. As a ranged class, he can attack with a top action and still heal an ally without moving. By adding strengthen/bless, your allies get stronger and can make up for the Tinker's relatively low damage output.

As soon as you get to lvl 2 monsters and everything has shield, Tinkerer can't touch them, and doing 1 or 2 dmg a round is not helping.
