With that being said- The FX801V is the most reliable engine in the FX line. We sell plenty of those on all lines in our dealership. I like the Vanguard 810 efi better because it has Delphi fuel injection. Its super reliable. With proper fueling the Vanguard runs cooler and will in turn last longer.

A couple points-. Kawi makes a good engine, but they don't make an 852cc 31hp. The 31 is the 921v which is 999 cc same as the 35 hp 1000v. The 852 comes in 24.5 (was 27under old inaccurate system), 25.5 (was 29 under old inaccurate system) and 27 hp (which was 31 under old inaccurate system, but hasn't been for three years now).
