86 posts · Joined 2007. #4 · Dec 22, 2008. I painted a motorcycle fairing the other day, base white and then cleared it. On the 2nd coat of clear a black speck ( bug ) etc. landed in it. Used a dirt pic to remove most of it. Applied 3rd coat of clear. Wet sanded, came out barely noticeable.

FWIW, for practice, I shot at least 10 gallons of various brand enamels, with a few different hardeners, using a 4:1:1 mixture. I had no ill effects with adhesion, mixing different brand enamels with different brand hardeners. Limco LHM and Omni MH202 hardeners held the shine, but I had die back every time with Matrix enamel hardener.
