Dec 18, 2020 · The helicopter event in Project Zomboid does not generally last very long. The most ideal situation for the helicopter event would be to have a vehicle full of fuel. As long as you are prepared to make a trip for a few days the helicopter should not be too much of a problem. Keep a backpack with food and water to last a few days. You can hide from the Helicopter event. I've done it a few times. You have to be inside the entire time the Helicopter is in the area and you cannot be seen at any point from the outside. The heli does actually look for players outside of buildings and if it does find someone, it will stick around for longer following them.
