Use excessive corvettes with afterburners and torpedoes since it's not like the dragon has point defense. Take a solid 40-50k and you'll be fine. 20k fleet power minimum. Talk to the science enclave pay them for a damage bonus. Also look up the wiki and build a counter fleet.

Your first planet will be a research planet. Your second planet will be an industry AND unity planet (thanks to masterful crafters; but also use city districts).Shard is an Acrel spawn and his ability to torch the planet is pretty new.
