It could very well be as a result of genetics like @JonaaronbrayAzoth said above, only real way would to send it into a lab to identify the compounds present.

Tyia. ive always been told it shouldnt. when i moved to a legal state, ive never had wax that tastes like sulfur. it could be possible contaminants. it was probably made from bud that has residual fungicide/pesticides on it, or it wasn't properly flushed of its nutrients before harvest.
