I do not want to just get a different spout that fits this adapter. After 15 emails with Delta, they still wouldn’t give me a list of spouts that use this adapter and I want to use the one that came with the trim I Jul 7, 2017 · When installing this RP41591 slip-on tub spout, the tubing should be cut 2 ¾ - 4 ¼” from the finished wall with a tubing cutter.Prior to inserting the tube into the adapter, the end should be chamfered free of burrs (on the outside of the tube) to prevent cutting or nicking of O-ring. Do not over-tighten set screw. First, cut the copper tube 2-4" from the finished wall and remove any burs. Slide the brass adapter on so that it is 1/4" to 1/2” from the finished wall and tighten the set screw. Thread the tub spout back onto the adapter. In my opinion, the RP12307 (screw-on or soldered) adapter has a lower likelihood of leaking. It only has one O-ring and the other connection is either soldered or threaded. If you are able to install the soldered or threaded adapter, that one is the one to go with. It can be purchased with the "DELTA RP17453 DELTA TUB SPOUT" set
