It's not. But some small pieces of it have been made canon by canon material. The details of the story are still not canon, but clearly the Old Republic was an era that existed and there was a Sith named Revan roaming around. It's still unclear how much in common the canon versions of this stuff has with the Legends versions.
Kotor also doesn't look good next to totj, the tech feels very different and then after that the tech feels very much the same all the way up till Legacy. Lightside ending is officially canon, yet the KOTOR 2 outcome and progression ultimately comes down to the response the Exile chooses in the beginning of the game. For example, if you say Revan was female and was not redeemed, then it makes the official canon ending of KOTOR 1 void for the sake of that game.Her "sudden" acceptance of the night side was total bullcrap, as was the whole skeletal game. My opinion is that the canon ending is one that isn't in the game; logically speaking, however, it makes the most sense. That ending is: high honour Arthur, help John, but still get killed by Micah. Why this? Well logically, Arthur will have high honour because he redeems himself at the end.
