Nov 29, 2017. #20. I have a story about Kubota Super UDT vs regular hydraulic oil. I bought a L3830 new in 2006. When I did the 50 hour service I had 15+ gallons of great looking oil. I had a new log splitter that had always had a whine in the pump. I drained out the generic Wally World oil and put in used Super UDT.

About $20 a gallon at the dealer. You may be able to go back to UDT if cost is an issue as it's backwards compatible.. as least for some machines. I'm ready to do a 300 hour oil change on the front axle of my B7800. My operator's manual states that I can use Kubota UDT or Super UDT or SAE80-SAE90 gear oil. Due to the fact that I own a larger JD tractor that I utilize Hy-gard hyd oil in it I'm thinking about changing my Kubota M7040 HDC over to utilizing Hy-Gard so when changing to different equipment hyd oils won't be intermingled between tractors/equip.There are only 2 hydraulic packs (plus the wet brakes) in mine that require a VG32 fluid, the PTO clutch pack (which every Kubota tractor with a live PTO has and the hydraulic shuttle pack. Certainly don't need mega priced SUDT or even UDT and I don't use either in my front axle gearcases or outboard planetary drives.
