I swore my next bow would be a Mathews after buying my son a Phase 4 this summer, it is such a smooth shooter. Well, that changed when I picked up an end of year VTM 34 for a great price. They are almost the same bow IMO. The VTM 34 has a true center shot at around 3/4”, in other words the arrow is coming straight out of the bow at that distance. The V Pro 33 was closer to 5/8”. So I much prefer the VTM from that aspect. The VTM also has the hole in the riser for the drop away rest which is nice.

(PSE with Volvo cam felt great, but getting a Fortis was 8 weeks out for EC 2 cam) They didn’t have a VTM in none camo so I shot the RX 7 ultra and liked how it felt, there were some perks compared to the VTM.The bow has only a quick bump in the grip at the shot, with no detectable vibration. One of the RX-4’s many outstanding qualities is its excellent balance at rest, full draw and after the shot. The draw cycle is firm, with no abrupt transitions for a consistent experience, and the Custom-Tune grip is comfortable and functional.This is a quick comparison of the 2021 Hoyt Ventum and the Mathews V3.Both bows are excellent bows. If you can’t shoot both based on the specs the Mathews is a shorter ata at 34ish and the Hoyt is 36ish. The Hoyt in theory should be more forgiving because it is longer. The Mathews will be lighter and slightly faster shooting. The cam feel you have to pull to feel it.The 80% mods will be "jumpier" due to a narrower valley. If your draw length is spot on this will be less noticeable. I switched from 85% to 80 because the western state I hunt each year is 80% max lefoff.
