Not bad, mind you, just underwhelming. They do offer some decent auto-castable psycasts thou, for combat. I also remember liking archon and archotech paths. I believe archotech path had psychic shock ability, which is really good if you really want to take someone a prisoner out of a horde of enemies, without killing them.

It's not like Rimworld of Magic where everybody and their mother has all-powerful spells; the Empire's strength is more in their top-tier armor and weapons, and Psycasts are meant to be a player tool to tip the scales.
