There is a sensation of air/movement occurring (especially in the 2nd mode) and the Golden has significantly more tonal range. In the 1st mode, it captures some of that faster/snappier VH plate reverb effect. This is exactly my one main takeaway from the Golden Reverberator. The Deluxe Reverb is excellent (Oxford Speaker with some really nice mic choices). It immediately works easily with the HX Deluxes. Quickly 'grab' an SM7 and 121 or 421 and 160 and get a great tone. The Coles and the Shure SMS313 are special. The 414 is super flat and easy to use.

They don't sell the pickups separetly, so I don't think they would just give them away in an SE.
