The deeper diving includes potential archetypes to enter and there are more of dex only requirement than str only requirement as most of the str multiclasses usually require a secondary attribute. I think the Abyssal BL straight (or Orc) is better because you get almost identical STR bonus, but you get the full Magus capstone abilities, as well. Yeah DD is only better if you want better AC from being unarmored and use Scaled Fist as well. It doesn't matter whether you're armored or not for the DD's AC bonus.
