I've been using the design on the attached screenshot for several versions, I constructed one in my old 1.19 world and it worked fine but it is not spawning any Iron Golems in 1.20.1. I looked up on the wiki and search results and as far as I can tell, everything about this design meets all the requirements for a Golem to spawn. It doesn't look like they can. From iron farms I’ve seen that have villager pods underground, all have a trapdoor in between the slabs and the zombie in a boat. The boat will lower the eye level of the zombie allowing the villagers to sleep and the trapdoor instead of the slab will force the villagers to not sleep and spawn in a golem, you ... 1.19 had a few bugs that broke villagers. It was fixed in snapshot 22w24a, the new 1.19.1 pre-release and release candidate snapshots should also have working villagers. So i built a quite simple iron farm in a 1.18.1 server, the problem I'm having is that the villagers wont sleep and its causing golems to not spawn. The only times the villagers do sleep is when i join the server while its night and the iron farm chunks aren't loaded. they are scared. Haven’t seen this style before.
