I lost my Mucus plug about 5 hours ago and yesterday the Dr told me I was 80% effaced and 3cm dilated. DH and I are getting ready just in case the contractions get stronger.This time around the baby is also at the lowest position in my cervix, and still, nothing. Not sure what my effacement was/is. Unfortunately dilation doesn't mean much unless you're actually in labour, you can be dilated for weeks and weeks. I was 2cm dilated and 90% effaced at 36 weeks and had her at 39 weeks.

My guess was braxton hicks because they weren't regular contractions and eventually stopped. Today at my 36.2 week check up I learned that those contractions were real! The baby came basically 48 hours after we got to the hospital but 44 hours of that was getting from 1.5 to 7. However 7-10 took less than a half hour. Wow congratulations!!! And thank you! At my wife's last checkup, the doctor said she was 2cm dilated/ 80% effaced and the head was low, due date still 12 days away. No other symptoms….
