by mtaalib » Sat Oct 17, 2020 2:05 am. I recently had the 'no key detected' problem on my 2017 flex. Out of nowhere it just started giving me this message. Luckily I was parked in the driveway. My fix was replacing the battery - not in the fobs - but the battery under the hood. Runs better than before.

Took off the airbag (and the steering wheel) and checked continuity across the clockspring, all good. Poked around for a while.Start by removing the key from the ignition and closing all doors. Insert the key in the ignition and remove it. Do this in under ten seconds. Next, put the key in the ignition and turn it on, press the lock button on the key fob, and release it. As an update though, I was able to use the ignition method to program an old key fob I had from a 2000 Explorer that was never used. (we got 3 with the car) So now all I need to buy is a key with a transponder and not the integrated key...
