For the .410 ammunition for the Taurus Judge, it is recommended to use 2.5-inch shotshells for optimal performance and accuracy. See 3,000+ New Gun Deals HERE.The 2.5" 410 is harder to find than 3" magnums, so if you can find a Magnum JUDGE it would be the best choice. But the 2.5" 410 will still cover more of the cylinder than a 45 colt, so the extra space is not really an issue. The real reason, is the plastic shot cups of modern 410's actually covers the rifling when you fire the 410's thru THE JUDGE.

You should be aware that adapters designed for revolvers are 2.5" in length and are smooth bore, not rifled. Tests and reviews have shown that bullets fired from smooth bore adapters tend to tumble in flight. Keyholes in targets are common. Only 5 inch and longer adapters are rifled. I don't believe so. First of all, the Public Defender is built on a modified M85 frame whereas the Judge is built on a modified Tracker 44 frame, ergo it is extremely unlikely that barrels are interchangeable. My suggestion is to not try going over the posted presures for the .45LC, your gun wasn't designed for higher presures.
