I have been loading 12 gauge in 3/4 oz. shot and have had wonderful luck. Claybuster 3/4 ounce wad, with Hodgdon Titewad powder is a fabulous combination. Pressures are great and velocities from 1150 up to 1300. Winchester AA HS hulls, or Remington Nitro, Gun Club or STS. Very soft shooting and they break birds great.The TG powder needed 17.2 gr for a 1235 fps load with 8,800 psi. All three powders are very suitable for 1 oz loads. For 7/8 oz loads, the Hodgdon data only shows loads for one of these powders - TW. For a 1200 fps load, you need to drop 16.3 grains for 7,700 psi. You could load just about anything you want using only Titewad and Federal and Win primers. Use the Feds in the lighter loads and the Wins in the heavier loads.
