The gt4 will be lower, stiffer, and substantially more powerful. Since you can't test drive the gt4 the only possibility would be to see if they have a gt3 you could compare to a 911s or gts. That might give you an idea of the difference between the two cars. As others have pointed out, you cannot change trim levels (Base, S GTS, GT4) or models (Cayman/Boxster) under the same allocation and while there is always a chance, you may still be waiting to get a GT4 allocation when the GTS is a year old. Or more. The GT4 has a "better" suspension, but in street driving it won't matter very much.

I was planning to pay cash, but after talking it over a bit, I just decided to pass and hang on to my GTS -- if a GT4 allocation does end up coming around, I'll grab one. I just got too excited and jumped the gun when I found a brand new untitled 2015 GT3 in an almost perfect configuration.
