Refering to the '06 touring models,the service manual says 32 ozs.The owners maual says to fill to bottom of clutch spring.I had to add about another 5 ozs to get the level to the clutch spring.No abnormal clutch action with this amount. No experience yet about oil weight. I have a new 2010 Ultra Classic; I previously owned a 2002, 2003 and a 2006 Ultra Classic, all with the Twin Cam 88 and 5-speed transmission, so I know I can't readily compare this bike to ones I owned in the past. My concerns, is that I hear gear or transmission whine in 1st and 6th gear.

I just changed the oil and used 20/50 royal purple. The owner's manual says oil capacity is 3.5 quarts so that is what I put in. When I check the oi, it's past the full mark on the dipstick.

Owners and service manual both say capacity is 3.5 qts or as they say 'not to exceed 3.5 qts'. Well mine was full, per the dipstick, at about 6 oz shy of that.
