Rab disabled subaru outback.
The RAB disable button in a new Outback looks exactly like the Ascent's RAB disable button, except the Outback RAB disable button permanently disables RAB until the driver manually re-enables it. This leads me to believe Subaru has the ability to fix the Ascent's RAB safety problem via a software update.
RAB Disabled on 17. Just had the windshield replaced and eyesight calibrated by Safelite through my insurance company. Car was backed into a spot when I picked it up so I just drove it home, no issues and eyesight is working. Put the car into reverse this morning, immediately get a "RAB Disabled" message on the dash. When in reverse, on the bottom left corner of the main display showing the backup camera image, is a touch screen button to disable RAB. Page 368 in the manual. I suggest downloading the pdf copy of the manual to make things easier to find.
