The low tech solution here is to build the deck as you're learning the kanji. e.g. today you want to learn 10 new kanji so you highlight the deck, click Add and compose 10 new cards. Then when you do the review it will present these new cards in the order that you added them.

I've been using the Wanikani deck and it seems it has some radicals used from the chinese languages and others are kind of made up. But I don't think that's so bad.
